Sir Bani Yas is an island southwest of Abu Dhabi and the largest natural island in the United Arab Emirates. In 1977, Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan created a wildlife reserve on the island, which has now become home to thousands of free-living animals, including ostriches, cheetahs, giraffes, sea turtles, gazelles and the Arabian oryx, endangered. It is also a bird sanctuary, where you can find more than a hundred species of wild birds.
